"Don't miss seeing the movie the whole town will be talking about, NO IMPACT MAN. On Friday April 23, 7 p.m. at the Noyes Museum. All are invited (locals residents, farmers, business owners, politicians, everyone) to see how one man and his reluctant family bucks the conventional system and makes no trash, uses no electricity, uses only bicycles for transportation and EATS LOCALLY AND SEASONALLY among other things for one year! The Noyes Museum of Art of Richard Stockton College, in partnership with the Ocean City Fine Art League, are honored to be exhibiting the work by Arc's artists at the Atlantic City Airport, March 26th till June 22nd. The exhibit is open to the public and the first hour of parking is free.

The Arc's Creative Arts Program is part of the Recreation Program designed to give people opportunities to play sports, to learn new skills and to discover their creative talents. They grow in confidence, self-estem and improve their social skills by making connecting with new friends and the community.

Contemporary Clay Redefined

March 4 - June 13, 2010

Opening Reception: March 19, 2010, 5-8 p.m.

Nineteen nationally acclaimed artists stretch the limitations of not only the physical properties of clay, but also the perception of what clay art can be. The voices of fringe, emerging or non-traditional ceramic artists are presented in imaginative applications. The artists engage the viewer by creating mystery or seeking a truth through the manipulation of the medium in an attempt to cause stimulation of the senses. Mish-Mash Strikes Back is part of the South Jersey Clay Tour that includes one-hundred and fifty artists in fourteen different exhibitions at eleven venues across six southern NJ counties.

Participating artists include: Emily Ward Bivens, Matt Burton, Doug Casebeer, Ray Chen, Rick Crowley, David East, Rain Harris, Katherine Johnson, Jerry Kaba, Leigh Taylor Mickelson, Peter Morgan, Jill Oberman, Helen Otterson, Rick Parsons, Kelly & Kyle Phelps, Amy Santoferraro, Todd Shanafelt, Keith Smith, Fred Spaulding and Skeff Thomas.

HAMMONTON, NJ - In this exhibit images from “wild” or ancient places are juxtaposed with the beauty just outside your door, illustrating that the love of the land and its creatures is universal. A native of San Diego, David Carr has traveled the world with camera in hand. His talent is captured here in the natural beauty of New Jersey along with photos from his travels to Tanzania, Alaska, the American West and beyond. The show continues through April 10, 2010.

David L. Carr – Dr. Carr is Provost and Executive Vice President at Richard Stockton where he served as Dean of Social and Behavioral Sciences, and Vice President for Academic Affairs prior to his appointment as Provost in 2003. Carr takes many shots of local Osprey, the Richard Stockton College mascot, and campus scenes for use in campus publications. His most visible work is the pair of Osprey on the side of the Stockton Sports Center. Dr. Carr and his wife, Beverly, are residents of Galloway Township.

“Stockton-Noyes Holds Pre-Show Reception

for V-Day Hammonton Production”

HAMMONTON- In celebration of the new partnership between The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey and the Noyes Museum, a special pre-show reception will be held at the Noyes Museum in Hammonton on Saturday, February 27th at 6:30 prior to the closing performance of “The Vagina Monologues”. During this reception, audience members will have the opportunity to speak to members of the cast and learn more about the work of the Atlantic County Women’s Center, this year’s beneficiary for the proceeds of this production.

The Vagina Monologues” will be performed at The Eagle Theatre on Friday and Saturday, February 26th and 27th at 8PM. Tickets are $15 for general admission, $13 for seniors and students, and can be purchased in advance online by visiting http://www.theeagletheatre.com/

The Noyes Museum of Art presents an exploration on a unique area. From the Marshlands to the Ocean, March 18 – May 30, 2010 feature a unique range of works. An opening reception is scheduled for Friday, March 19 from 5 to 8 p.m.

From the Marshlands to the Ocean selects a specific region of New Jersey and explores it. The Marshlands are an untouched area and the exhibition provides insight into to these locations. The works featured are dynamic. The artists are calculated in their technique. The exhibit illustrates what the artists see. It honors the land that we walk upon and at times forget.
Featured artists include painters Greg Bennett, Michael Budden, Neal McPheeters, Stan Sperlak, Pat Witt and sculptor Don Friel. All of whom are local to New Jersey.

The Noyes Museum of Art has signed an agreement with Stockton College today. We are now The Noyes Museum of Art of Richard Stockton College. This unique partnership will benefit not only the two organizations, but the community at large. We have always partnered with the college but now it is more formal. As for the museum, this will increase the capacity to provide programs, events, and exhibitions. It will also allow the museum to strengthen its educational platform. As for Stockton, they are now providing a BFA program and builidng a new gallery. The museum will provide opportunities for students and faculty to participate in new and exciting programs. It is a win win. There are partnerships like this now forming all over the country. It is not for everyone, but we believe it is for us. Currents:Recent Acquisitions from the Permanent Collection
January 30th-February 27th, 2010

The Noyes Museum of Art is proud to present recent acquisitions to its permanent collection in the exhibition, Currents. On exhibition are prints by contemporary, New Jersey-based artists who were granted the New Jersey Print and Paper Fellowship by the Brodsky Center for Innovative Editions at Rutgers University, along with paintings by Hulda Robbins and Myra Yedwab’s mixed media sculptures. This Gallery & Education Guide provides information on the Brodsky Center and some of the artists featured in the exhibition.
