Introduction to Watercolors Class for Adults with
Kathy Johnston
10 am-12 pm, $60 members, $75 non-members, supply list provided
Our new artists’ studio space will host highly skilled watercolorist Kathy Johnston who will guide you through a step-by-step introduction to watercolor techniques.

Saturday Feb. 10
Creative Sparks Art Activity, “Celebrating the Chinese New Year”
1-2 pm, ages 6-10, $3/child, $4/adult
In honor of the Chinese New Year’s celebration in this Year of the Boar, we will be making Chinese paper lanterns, “paper cuts” and scrolls. In the process, children will learn about the lore and legends behind this important holiday on the Chinese calendar.

Mixed Media Workshop for Teens through Adults with
Erin Endicott
1-3pm, $20 members, $30 non-members, supplies provided, you are
encouraged to bring items to personalize your work
In this multi-media workshop participants will be introduced to a wide range of innovative techniques using a variety of materials (fabric, collage, painting, etc.). Participants will be encouraged to create their own "Miniature Masterpieces" using these creative techniques. This workshop is a fun way to learn about and experiment with new materials and techniques and best of all it is suitable for all anyone - NO Artistic Experience Required!! All materials will be supplied by instructor but participants will be encouraged to bring items to "personalize" their art.

Learn about the mysteries of fusing colored glass and glass painting techniques with gifted stained glass artist Ken Leap. A wonderful hands-on exploration of creative expression in glass.

Wednesdays, March 7-April 11
Beginning to Intermediate Watercolor for Adults with

Students will gain a solid watercolor foundation. A supply list will be provided. $120 members, $140 non-members.

Wednesdays, March 7-April 11
Beginning Watercolor for Ages 9-12 with
Phyllis London
4-5pm
Students will learn basic drawing skills and develop drawings into finished watercolor paintings. A supply list will be provided. $60 members, $70 non-members.

“Women Artists Through History” – A Women’s History Month Event

1-2:30pm, FREE
Sponsored by the New Jersey Council for the Humanities. Anne Swartz, Ph.D. will discuss women artists and their role in the art world, both behind the scenes and their gradual emergence into the mainstream of the arts. Call to register.

Painting Discovery for ages 6-12 with Patty Moses
4 - 5pm, $50 members, $60 non-members, materials included, adults

This course is designed to introduce young painters to the wonderful world of landscape painting. Using acrylic paints and canvas boards, professional artist Patty Moses will guide each student through the essential elements of picture making including composition, value, and color. All materials are provided. Class size limited so please register early.

Creative Sparks Art Activity, “Fantasy Landscapes”
1-2 pm, ages 6-10, $3/child, $4/adult
Drawing inspiration from the architectural landscapes of Paul Santoleri in our exhibition “Spinning Worlds: Emerging Artists“ we venture into the realm of our dreams. Using a wax resist technique, we will first draw and then add bursts of color to our flights of fancy.

Monday March 19
Teacher’s Workshop, “Metaphor in Another Medium”
9am-3pm, $45 per teacher (includes lunch)
Throughout the ages, artists and writers have inspired each other. We will explore the connections between the visual arts and language arts, thematic and technical, and, as teachers, how to utilize one medium to engage and excite students about the other medium. Course participants will learn looking and writing activities transferable to the classroom and be given a teacher resource packet “Learning to Look”.

Tuesdays, March 20 - April 24
Painting Studio - Acrylics & Oils, Adults with
Marilyn Brent
10am - 12 noon, $120 members, $140 non-members
For beginners and intermediates alike, this class focuses on painting techniques using oils and acrylics, including choosing art materials and understanding their applications. Use of palette and color theory will be discussed as we focus on each individual's abilities to develop their own personal statement in a fun and encouraging environment.
