Talk on fashions of 1800s complements fanciful new exhibit
OCEANVILLE — A lecture on fashion in the Victorian Age on Sunday at the Noyes Museum of Art added another dimension to the museum's newest show, "Seams: Contemporary Art to Wear," which opened Friday and will run until Aug. 25.
On Sunday, Kristina Haugland, assistant curator, Department of Costumes and Textiles, Philadelphia Museum of Art, examined fashion of the Victorian age in her presentation, "Perfect Ladies: The Art of Dress, Beauty and Etiquette in the Victorian Age," the evolution of fashion as the social ideals of the Victorian times.
