The Cape May Art League recently donated to The Noyes Museum of Art its collection of Herbert Pullinger drawings and paintings. These 42 pieces depict the South Jersey area. Herbert Pullinger was a well known artist in the Delaware Valley and spent his life in Philadelphia. He was part of the Philadelphian Sketch Club, the Plastic Club, the Woodmere Art Museum, as well as the Cape May County Art League. At a recent exhibit of his works at the Atwater Kent Museum it was said that he was an "urban romantic" and that "he was part of the great art movement of the second quarter of the twentieth century that was characterized by the Ashcan School. An exhibition of this collection will occur in 2008/2009.
